My new words to an old song

I believe this song is a traditional spiritual about Christmas. One for the little bitty baby...

These are my words for Easter (aka Resurrection Day.)

Children go where I send you.
How shall I send you?
I'm gonna send you one by one.
One for my precious Savior,
Who died, died and rose again.

Children go...
I'm gonna send you two by two.
Two for Peter and John,
One for my...

Children.. three by three.
Three for the three Marys.
Two..
One..

Making the words fit the tune requires a little adjustment.

My stanzas for four and five didn't really turn out well. Any ideas?

Our elementary chorus sang the Christmas song at our concert- it is a public school!!! I was impressed and it was the first time I had heard the song, too!

Back in the dark ages, before I taught math and science, I taught music. My first year, I asked the principal if there would be a problem with religious songs at Christmas. He looked at me very strangely and said, "Not in this town."

Glad to hear it's still possible some places.
