Friends in High Places

"Friends in High places"

Well I was in need and I needed a friend
I was alone and I needed a hand
I was going down
But someone rescued me

Chorus:
My God cares too much to say
His mercies are new everyday
I get down to pray
And then help is on its way

I walk by faith and not by sight
If things go wrong, it’ll be alright
‘Cause someone greater
Is watching over me
(Chorus)

Now in faith, I believe
I’ve got everything I need
I walk by faith and not by what I see
I’ve got friends in high places
I’ve got someone I can call
And I’ve got someone watching over me

O, for a Pair of Scissors

Does Illinois have a gubernatorial suite in its prison system?
Whenever I see a photo or video of the current gov., I want to take a pair of scissors and cut off that swag of hair over his forehead. Is it just me?

Jan. 26: Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is in New York rather than at his state Senate impeachment trial (AP Photo).

Kindly ignore the archbishop on the left.

I'm not comparing the activities of gov. Bla... to the insanities of Hitler. It's just that his swath of hair always makes me think of A.H.

Edit, after impeachment:Blago, just go away quietly.

Living Water

ζάω

Transliteration

zaō

Pronunciation

zä'-ō (Key)

Part of Speech

verb

Root Word (Etymology)

a primary verb

TDNT Reference

Vines

Outline of Biblical Usage

1) to live, breathe, be among the living (not lifeless, not dead)

2) to enjoy real life

a) to have true life and worthy of the name

b) active, blessed, endless in the kingdom of God

3) to live i.e. pass life, in the manner of the living and acting

a) of mortals or character

4) living water, having vital power in itself and exerting the same upon the soul

5) metaph. to be in full vigour

a) to be fresh, strong, efficient,

b) as adj. active, powerful, efficacious

The above paste is from Strong's lexicon. I looked up some words in John 7:38,39.

38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified

I'd been told an erroneous translation of "Living water".

I tell you, that Book is marvelous. The Spirit, though beyond our full comprehension, is always with the believer, and sometimes manifests in marvelous ways.

May you have living water.

The red on white is a hand embroidered cotton tshirt.

The dancing Love was embroidered on thrifted slubby peach fabric.

So, I've finished the First Dancing Daughters, and am beginning, tonight, the First Dancing Ladies. I admit that the colors for both were vaguely inspired by a couple of ensembles worn to the inauguration.

I've had one of those knitter's disasters. Big project, has taken months. Needs fixing, and isn't easily done because I'd knitted on a sideways edge. I've put it in a bag and put it away for awhile. It's too discouraging. On to Dancing Ladies!

May you dance joyously in Love.

You know what I think of our new Sec of State.

Here are some new and newly edited photos.

The butterfly and Cross are on tea towels and will be offered for $7.95.

The three inch hoop is entitled "Dancing V's", and will also be offered for 7.95.

May your life be filled with the joy of belief and dancing, and the charm of butterflies.

WOW

I hesitated to blog about today, because I'm a little Republican and a little conservative, and a lot anti-abortion(o excuse me, "pro-life").

However, who couldn't be excited, and happy that an African American was sworn in as POTUS. (You know I wanted Rice or Powell.) Can a student ever again say, "The American Dream is only for whites."?

No!

I'm so glad for the renewed hope in this country, and seemingly, the world. That so many people in other nations are so happy is a little scary to me.

I saw several political cartoons I liked. The ones with Martin Luther King Jr. watching the swearing in were wonderful. So was the one with Lincoln, Kennedy, and King. Then there was one with Michelle O reading a newspaper with headlines about the economy, the middle East, etc. The Judge was saying to BHO, "Do you really swear you want to take over this ---awful mess?" Similar to that was the judge saying to BHO,"The words are 'So help me God, not God help me.'"

I've been praying for BHO and the country. I pray for the peace and prosperity of Jerusalem. That would be nice for this country, too.

michelle-obama-inaugural-ball-gown.jpg

Now, to the insignificant. I rate the Michelle O inaugural ball gown an A-. The the general shape and the one shoulder were wonderful. I just don't like knobs on clothes. Oh, they are flowers. Maybe I'll get over it. She's beautiful, and her husband's obvious affection for her really increases her attractiveness.

I loved the swearing-in ensemble. A. The green gloves and shoes added the perfect touch.

I'd bet that the combination of orange and pink will become popular. The girls are great.

The train ensemble was also an A. I like purple. It stands either for leadership or for a melding of head and heart. It suits her.

Aretha F's gray ensemble was very attractive. loved the hat. Wish I could carry off gray.

Back to the significant

I like that BHO picked a cabinet of mostly experienced people. However, Hillary as SoState is scary. If she's approved, I hope she has a lot of competent staff. Her main qualification seems to be that she slept down the hall from the POTUS. Of course, she was really selected, not to give her a consolation prize, but to keep the enemy close.

God bless and keep the Obama family.

To paraphrase "Fiddler on the Roof", God bless and keep our enemies, far from us.

Good News from the Doctor

I had thought my hip pain was arthritis and supposed I'd be dealing with another chronic pain the rest of my life. It turns out to be bursitis, which is fairly easily treatable. Thank you, Father.

I'm sure there must be a good reason for the way dentists and docs probe or palpate painful areas.

Pt: Ouch!

Dr.: Does that hurt? pokes again

Pt.: That hurts!

Dr.: Is that it? pokes again

Pt.:That REALLY hurts!

Dr.:Ok then. pokes again

Pt.: Arghh!

I managed to say to one dentist, around a probe in my mouth, after about 10 pokes, "Would you PLEASE stop doing that!?"

May you be spared unnecessary pain.

Mega Money Looks Silly

I certainly hope James is right. Tightening up is good for everyone.

I, Too, Would Have Bombed Them

I'm blatantly pro-Israel.

Hamas says the things that look like bombs were actually oxygen canisters. Israel says they were being taken from a place used to store ammunition.

Even if they turn out to be O2 canisters, they LOOKED like bombs (I think) and were in a suspect location. Don't be there when Israel is bombing. When men are there, they die.

If you google images of Grad missiles, you see the thing on the truck with added tail fins and warheads.

Why were the men in the yard wearing white coveralls with a head covering attached? I didn't see them from an angle to tell if they had face plates, but the the suits looked very much like American hazmat suits,

I hope Afghanis have learned not to shoot off rifles for joy in wedding celebrations. When they do, they get killed.

God, please keep the children safe. I hope Iraqi children have learned not to menacingly raise the empty hulk of a rifle carcass at American soldiers. When they do, they die.

Golda Meier: "We can forgive you for killing our sons. But we will never forgive you for making us kill yours."

Papa God, please forgive us.

Walt Whitman: "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day"

The wrong shall fail, the right prevail,
With peace on earth, good will to men.

I've that a better translation of the angels' message to the shepherds is "Peace to men of good will." Anyone have an opinion?

Peace of the Lord be with you.
